Filming at Playa Vista Campus

FIVE THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT FILMING AT PVC

  1. Only LED and Kino Flo lights can be used when filming in PVC.
  2. Equipment or oversized deliveries must be transported from the parking garage level to the 2nd Floor.
  3. No carts or oversized items can be transported through the 1st Floor Lobby.
  4. Not all spaces in PVC are stewarded by SFTV, and require approval from other campus partners.
  5. We are tenants at the Brickyard and must adhere to the Building Management’s guidelines.

FILMING PERMIT PROCEDURES

Students can film on the 2nd Floor, in some areas outside of the building and outside of the Brickyard property. Select the “Areas” section below for the specific permitting guidelines for the location you are requesting.

Area 1Within the 2nd floor of 12105 West Waterfront Drive (PVC campus).
Area 2Any interior or exterior area on The Brickyard property of 12105 West Waterfront Drive. This process should start (2) Weeks prior to filming
Area 3Areas outside of Brickyard property. This process should start (2) weeks prior to filming.

If you’re working on a class project, during class time and you remain on the 2nd floor of the PV campus, you may not need to file a permit or need approval from Production Administration. Please consult with your professor and Production Administration.

HOW TO BRING EQUIPMENT INTO THE PLAYA VISTA CAMPUS

IMPORTANT! BEFORE filming at PVC, please review the PVC Equipment Loading In/Out Procedures. Students are responsible for adhering to all procedures mandated by Building Management and SFTV.

PVC SPECIFIC FORMS FOR FILMING

Playa Vista Room Reservation Map outlines where you can and cannot film and who is the proctor for the spaces on the 2nd Floor at PVC.

FRIC – Film Request Inquiry Checklist form is used when requesting to film OUTSIDE the 2nd Floor of PVC – AREA 2.

BARF – Brickyard Access Request Form is used to request access to unload/load in The Brickyard’s loading area, near the trash bins at the Jefferson Entrance. The BARF form does not provide access to the parking lot. If you do not qualify for the parking card, we can request access to the “loading area” for your Production Vehicle. After unloading, all vehicles must find parking elsewhere.

PVC Delivery Directions and Map – This map outlines the two possible entry points for unloading/loading of large equipment packages that use carts, dollies or any other transport on wheels.

Playa Vista Interactive Map – This map provides an overview of the Playa Vista community.

POA-PVPAL Map designates which parks, recreation and community areas the Playa Vista Property Owners Association (POA – Sandra Kitashima) or the Playa Vista Parks and Landscape Corporation (PVPAL – Dawn Suskin) oversee.

POA Campus Map – Students who are filming in the Central Park area of Playa Vista can use this map to designate the location they are requesting.
