All artists collect tools that assist them in realizing their vision, and filmmakers are no exception. At SFTV, students work in every stage and department of film production; this means acquiring the necessary tools to stay safe and prepared throughout your journey as an artist.
At SFTV, you’ll begin to assemble a collection of filmmaking resources to support you in class and on-set. Some are required, others are optional. The key is to acquire the tools that are right for you and will ensure you’re safe and prepared for your SFTV experience.
It’s important to remember that while film school and filmmaking will always require you to invest in the tools of the trade, it’s not about having the latest, most expensive gear. Filmmaking is storytelling. Tell the best story you can with the resources you have available to you. Be creative and ask questions; our faculty and staff are here to assist you.
