THE TMZ
LMU uses the 30-mile zone (TMZ) to determine if the length of your production day is affected by your location. SFTV recognizes the 30 mile radius known as the Los Angeles Studio Zone which is centered at the intersection of La Cienega and Beverly.
Filming within the 30-mile zone (TMZ) allows a full production day without subtracting hours for commuting or to lodge your cast and crew overnight. The following map illustrates the 30 Mile Radius.

Filming outside of the recognized 30 Mile Zones means your production day will be abbreviated depending how far your set is outside the zone. For example, if your location is 30 minutes outside the 30 mile radius you production day is shortened by two hours. If you are significantly outside the 30 mile radius Production Administration may require you to lodge your cast and crew overnight between shooting days.
