{"id":2340,"date":"2021-07-07T11:21:29","date_gmt":"2021-07-07T18:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/?p=2340"},"modified":"2023-07-17T13:52:48","modified_gmt":"2023-07-17T20:52:48","slug":"tech-scouting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/07\/07\/tech-scouting\/","title":{"rendered":"Tech Scouting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color:#ab0c2f\" class=\"tadv-color\">WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHILE TECH SCOUTING<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After you have determined that the location you are surveying has the right visual look for your film, story, and characters, consider the following variables: \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consider these questions: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are there ample trashcans available?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where can you stage the production truck?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Will it fit on the street?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have permission to park the truck at your location?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How far will you have carry the gear?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where will you stage your gear? <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Will you have to work off the truck?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How many cast\/crew do you have permitted to park at the location<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is the location on the second floor?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do you have enough grips to carry gear upstairs?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Will you need walkie talkies?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where will you stage the generator? Is it out of range of your  boom mic?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where will you stage your cast?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Where is your cast holding area and where will they change clothes\/run lines?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have minors and a studio teacher? Where will they hold class?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Does the location have heat\/AC? <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are there sprinklers? Are they on a timer? Will they turn on during your shoot and soak your crew and food?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where are the emergency doors?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consider going to your location at the exact time of day you&#8217;ll be shooting. Observe the light, traffic, sounds, and environment.
