Students will use only their personal cameras or phones to capture these projects.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a DIY AT HOME is the right approach to the project &#8211; we hope that students will continue to utilize this option as it has provided an opportunity to learn to use &#8220;what they have\u201d to create personal and interpersonal projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">STANDARD IS DEFINED AS ANY PROJECT WITHOUT BOTH OF THE ELEMENTS OUTLINED ABOVE.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ALL STANDARD PROJECTS WILL REQUIRE a FILMING PERMIT &#8211; either on or off campus!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">STANDARD PROJECT elements: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>Filming with cast\/crew who are not part of your household.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Filming where you do not live.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Filming where you live but with cast\/crew who you do not live with.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>STANDARD projects require an on campus <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2022\/08\/26\/how-to-submit-an-on-campus-permit-through-mazevo\/\">Mazevo permit<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/08\/25\/filmla-permit-process\/\">FilmLA permit<\/a> depending on the location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An 8-Day lead time is required for all STANDARD projects or those that require permitting on campus. The same lead time is required for projects that require municipal permits &#8211; We do suggest a 2-Week lead for municipal permits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Procedure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong><u>ALL STUDENTS are to submit their projects on <a href=\"https:\/\/lmu.tap.thinksmart.com\/prod\/Portal\/workflowdashboard\/\">SFTV ON TAP<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Drop down Audition, Rehearsal, PRODUCTION &#8211; YOU ARE SUBMITTING FOR A PRODUCTION<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For DIY at HOME 5 days before you are expected to film<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For STANDARD 8 days before you are expected to film&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ANYTIME YOU ARE FILMING IN A DORM (even yours) you will&nbsp; require your Roommates and RD AND Housing Office approval &#8211; you will use <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Housing-Student-Filming-Approval-Form-1-1.pdf\">this hard copy form<\/a><\/strong> <strong>to obtain that approval&nbsp;HOUSING FORM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>You can earn your required Safety Badges in an in person or online training provided by PAT.&nbsp; The schedule for trainings can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/events-calendar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SFTV Production Handbook&#8217;s Calendar<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/leo.lmu.edu\/organization\/sftv\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LEO<\/a> (RSVP on LEO). All trainings are also available on <a href=\"https:\/\/brightspace.lmu.edu\/d2l\/home\/77763\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brightspace<\/a> as self-paced instruction followed by a quiz. We highly recommend the in-person or online trainings! Required* and recommended Safety Badge trainings for introductory projects include:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>General Production Safety Badge*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>IATSE Lighting and Grip Safety Badge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Truck Loading<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO MORE THAN 2 LOCATIONS TOTAL for each project&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO more than 8 cast and crew (Prod 379 no more than&nbsp; 5 and SCWR 510\/511 per class size))<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO filming out of the 30-mile zone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO PROP GUNS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OTHER HAND WEAPONS\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scenes making use of knives, swords, bayonets, etc. are required to use props made of rubber or similar material (normal eating utensils are exempted). They should be kept in a secure place and only taken out for rehearsal and filming. There is rarely, if ever, a need to have a sharp-edged prop in a film. All knives, swords and the like should have blunt edges. Keep in mind that wood, plastic or rubber weapons may be hazardous if used in a stabbing or lunging mode \u2013 in these cases, soft-tipped weapons are more appropriate.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO Stunts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO Minors or Animals (unless the project is a DIY-at-Home and the minor or animal lives in that household)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO EXT. NIGHT FILMING &#8211; except with existing light<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FILMING WINDOW is to be between 7AM- 10PM weekdays and 9AM-10PM weekends &#8211; the follows the FILM LA normal permitting windows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO filming in moving cars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>NO filming in water (Bathtub\/shower work can be approved on a case by case basis)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FOR QUESTIONS on SMOKE\/SMOKING:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are no open flame \/ candles allowed on campus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is no smoke or fog allowed on campus except with approval from DPS on one of our stages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Best Practices and Other Guidance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PLEASE REVIEW SPECIFIC AREAS OF THE PRODUCTION HANDBOOK FOR MORE COMPREHENSIVE and IN DEPTH INFORMATION on Safety Requirements, Production Elements not listed here,&nbsp; Industry Best&nbsp;Practices and MANY MANY other FILMMAKING RESOURCES at SFTV can be found in the <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/%C2%A0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>SFTV Production Handbook<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>ALL Students are expected to review their course syllabus and one-sheet for additional specs, filming guidelines and violation policies.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As stated in the Production Handbook in the Safety &amp; Violations section, SFTV has a twelve-hour maximum work day rule.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Locations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li><strong>ALL LOCATIONS MUST BE&nbsp;PERMITTED (on-campus and off) FOR THE APPROPRIATE DATE, TIME AND WORK YOU ARE COMPLETING.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AGAIN &#8212; An 8-Day lead time is required for all Standard projects or those that require permitting on campus. The same lead time is required for projects that require municipal permits. We do suggest a 2-Week lead for municipal permits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is no filming on roofs allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EQUIPMENT for PROD 200, 500, 379 (one project).
