Select the 30-minute meeting option on the <a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office365.com\/owa\/calendar\/LMUSFTV@lmu0.onmicrosoft.com\/bookings\/\">Bookings page.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color:#ab0c2f\" class=\"has-inline-color\">GETTING YOUR PROJECT GREEN LIT<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Project Approval is the process by which SFTV students are granted permission to begin production of their student films. All projects at SFTV must be reviewed and approved by Production Administration before they are allowed to move into the production phase. Students need Green Light approval from Production Administration before they are permitted to take equipment from SFTV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the course, the approval process may take anywhere from five business days to three weeks. It is the student\u2019s responsibility to know how long their specific approval period is and by when they must submit their approval paperwork. Consult your course One Sheet for specific information on how you will submit your approval packet. Students will use the <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/08\/06\/sftv-on-tap\/\">SFTV on Tap portal<\/a> to submit the required documents and&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/mymazevo.com\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mazevo<\/a> to request on campus locations. To review guidelines for introductory and intermediate\/advanced projects, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/filming-protocols\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> to view our Guidelines page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SFTV Production Administration Office is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday, not including <a href=\"https:\/\/admin.lmu.edu\/ue\/events\/exploreplan\/blackoutdates\/\">holidays and university leave days<\/a>, with Prod Admin offering limited student support outside of office hours during heavy production weeks. Students must be mindful that submitting approval paperwork late, after hours, or on weekends may effect their ability to commence production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SUBMISSION PROCEDURE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any project needs to be<strong> approved by your professor first.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Permits, COIs, and Mavezo requests CAN be started before project approval. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attend the SFTV Scheduling Meeting . For specific times and more information, please review your specific course guidelines. Visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/events-calendar\/\">calendar<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/leo.lmu.edu\/organization\/sftv\">LEO<\/a> for Zoom links. Scheduling your weekend to film your project is done through a number draw. If there is a slot available for your desired weekend you can lock in that weekend.&nbsp; Be advised that you should have a PLAN B and C in case you draw a low number. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Submit your project FOR APPROVAL NO LESS than&nbsp;3 weeks prior to your filming weekend in <a href=\"https:\/\/lmu.tap.thinksmart.com\/prod\/Portal\/workflowdashboard\/\">SFTV on TAP.<\/a> To submit on TAP, you will need: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Shooting Script with proper cover sheet, scene plugs, scene #s &#8211; with your Professor&#8217;s approval: <em>*Note: Prod 392\/492 &#8211; the above will be a treatment with production details<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A StripBoard (<a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/06\/11\/movie-magic-budgeting-and-scheduling\/\">Movie Magic Scheduling<\/a> Horizontal C) THAT CORRESPONDS with your SHOOTING SCRIPT AND your SHOOT DATES. Your Scene #s should match your script.&nbsp; Please make sure you have provided CAST #s for your cast so those #s appear on your stripboard.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/06\/11\/movie-magic-budgeting-and-scheduling\/\">A Movie Magic Budget<\/a> with figures that will cover your anticipated production needs, i.e., locations, permits, non-LMU crew\/cast, food, etc., See <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/SUPPORT-GUIDE-SFTV-prod-planning-budgeted-resource-guide-01.13-update.pdf\">budgeting and prep resources<\/a> for assistance. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Filmmaker-Agreement-Updated-08-12-22.pdf\">filmmaker agreement deal memo<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Cast and Crew list (What is known at submission) entered into the on-tap Cast\/Crew template. You can always return to make updates. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>AFTER YOU SUBMIT <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Book a ONE HOUR APPROVAL MEETING time with your PAT approver <a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office365.com\/owa\/calendar\/LMUSFTV@lmu0.onmicrosoft.com\/bookings\/\">here<\/a>. We will need 2 days to read your script and prepare for your meeting.&nbsp; Your Producer and 1st AD should attend your approval meeting with you.&nbsp; At this meeting you will be provided with a Checklist of documents and items to complete before you can be greenlit on your filming weekend<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After your meeting, your script will be reviewed by Risk Management for any final inquiries or approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Equipment Reservations and Lottery<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit your equipment reservations for the equipment lottery the Thursday, 2 weeks before your shoot weekend. In the event that someone tests positive, please refer to the LMU guidelines linked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lmu.edu\/together\/resources\/matrix\/#isolation\">here<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>OTHER PRODUCTION PROTOCOLS AND REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The items listed below are outlined as they are the most common questions and elements brought to the PAT team for review.&nbsp; They are by no means all the guidelines and protocols.&nbsp; It is a Cliffnotes version of what you should know before submitting your script for approval.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PLEASE REVIEW SPECIFIC AREAS OF THE <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/\">PRODUCTION HANDBOOK<\/a> FOR INFORMATION ON YOUR FILM&#8217;S PARTICULAR ELEMENTS:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ALL Students should review their course syllabus and one sheet for additional specs and filming guidelines and violations policy.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please review this <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/PAT-Support-Guide.pdf\">Resource Guide for Planning, Permitting, and Budgeting<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Filming Days and Hours<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For questions on filming days and hours, please visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/30-mile-radius\/\">30 Mile Radius<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/12-hour-rule\/\">12 Hour Rule<\/a> pages. As stated in the Production Handbook in the <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2022\/08\/02\/violations-to-sftv-policies-and-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Safety &amp; Violations<\/a> section, SFTV has a twelve-hour maximum work day rule. A maximum of 1\/2 hour mealtime is the only time that is deducted from the workday. Most productions choose to break for a 1\/2 hour meal. In other words, if you break for a 1\/2 hour, your workday can be a total of 12 1\/2 elapsed hours. If it is a one-hour or more meal break, you still cannot go past the 12 1\/2 hours elapsed on set.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Casting, Auditions<\/strong>,<strong> and Rehearsals<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Auditions, table reads, and early rehearsals can be conducted virtually and on-campus. These are allowed on both Main Campus and Playa Vista Campus with a proper location booking. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For more information on casting, including how to post on Backstage, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/06\/02\/casting-the-right-actors\/\">here<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Locations<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ALL LOCATIONS MUST BE&nbsp;PERMITTED (ON-CAMPUS AND OFF) FOR THE APPROPRIATE DATE, TIME AND WORK YOU ARE COMPLETING<\/strong>. Permits for on campus may be completed through <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2022\/08\/26\/how-to-submit-an-on-campus-permit-through-mazevo\/\">Mazevo.<\/a> Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/08\/25\/filmla-permit-process\/\">FilmLA<\/a> for off campus permits.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All students are required to photograph their location before and after filming for insurance purposes. Have a plan for your start and wrap times. Do consider set-up and wrap-time. If your permit request is 8 hours on the Bluff, we will want to know why you need so much time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For answers about the permitting process and production\/location costs, please reach out to and\/or visit the Student Production Office on either campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Minors <\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For questions on Minors, including working hours, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/minors\/\">here<\/a>. Please refer to your course specific guidelines for minor age limits. All minors working on your set are required to have a studio teacher on-set and guardian on-set. You will need to obtain a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dir.ca.gov\/dlse\/entertainment-work-permit.htm\">minor work permit<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Stunts<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For questions on stunts, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/06\/09\/stunts\/\">here<\/a>. All stunt work will require an experienced Stunt Coordinator to be on set. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No stunt driving work will be approved. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prop Weapons <\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For questions on prop weapons, as well as a comprehensive breakdown of what can and cannot be used on set, the process of requesting, and information for planning and budgeting, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/06\/07\/dangerous-elements-prop-weapons\/\">here<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anytime you have a prop weapon on set, it must be noted on your permit request. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An extra level of police, PSAFE notifications, or paid monitoring may be required. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Intimacy Work <\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For questions on intimacy work, as well as resources for an intimacy coordinator, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/07\/29\/intimacy-coordinators\/\">here<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scenes of intimacy and simulated sex to be reviewed and approved individually by the Production Administration Team. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An Intimacy Coordinator or crew member on-set with Intimacy Training may be required.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Animals<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For questions on animals, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/animals\/\">here<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All animal work must employ a professional animal trainer.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum of 2 weeks lead time is required for Risk Management Approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Smoke\/Smoking <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is no form of any smoke, fog, or haze allowed on campus, which includes any LMU stages or black boxes at this time. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For questions on smoke\/smoking, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/2021\/06\/03\/special-effects\/\">here<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Water Work\/Lifeguards <\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For questions on water work\/lifeguards, click <a href=\"https:\/\/sftvproductionhandbook.lmu.build\/index.php\/boats-and-water\/\">here<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All cast and crew members working on or near water should exercise caution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> If you are on a vessel, all cast and crew MUST wear life vests. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If any cast or crew are going into any body of water, a lifeguard must be present. (This includes a pool!) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Rooftops<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are never allowed to film on a rooftop.
